HPH2013 - 21st HPH Conference Gothenburg 2013 - Welcome to HPH 2013

WHO HPH Management School:

Managing health promotion and quality in hospitals & health services

Dates: May 15 - 17

Venue: WHO CC, Bispebjerg University Hospital, Denmark & WHO-CC, Malmö, Sweden

Today, quality management and accreditations of health promoting (HP) activities have received increased attention in the different Health sectors. The Management School focuses on how these HP activities are integrated and followed-up across the sectors.

This two-and-a-half day course gives the background for managing HP and the quality in Hospitals and Health Services. The programme contains well-tested HP and Quality models for both primary care and hospitals.

The programme is made up by presentations of managers and experts in the field, engaging workshops for participants, and educative visits to a clinical department.

During the Management School, the participants will be introduced to the use of the Danish Quality Model, which has been established to create international standards and indicators in Denmark and to conduct the accreditation of Danish health care. The Danish Quality Model has been implemented during the last years in the primary sector, pharmacies and hospitals.

The second day of the programme will take place at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö, Sweden. Here the participants are introduced to the Swedish approach to QM-based re-imbursement. The visit also includes a visit to a Psychiatric department where a current research project Very Important Patient is monitoring the effect of adding health promotion to standard psychiatric practice.

On the last day of the school, a visit to WHO Regional Office for Europe has been planned, giving the participants an insight in the new strategic framework of Health 2020 and the collaboration between the World Health Organisation and the national/regional health services.

All transportation to and from both Malmö and WHO Europe will be organised by the WHO-CC. During all three days, the participants will be served lunch and refreshment, tea and coffee.
